Book In Progress

I am working on a book about my Lewis family history, and have posted the draft chapters on this web site’s Genealogy section under Lewis.

One new item is sharing family member photos.  It is purely voluntary, and gives us the chance to stay a bit more in touch.  If you would like to have a photo posted, or get in touch with someone who has posted a photo, drop me a line and I’ll do my best to assist.

Enjoy the reading, and let me know if you have any input.

Ever heard of Robert Bradford Lewis? He drew up a pedigree chart in about 1997, detailing all you have here (and more), and distributed it to many members of the descendants of Robert Ira Lewis, of whom he is one. I notice a one difference, however, between his chart and your information. Where you have Robert Lewis of Granville dying in Nov.1780, he gives 1781(no month). Where did you get your information on this? Also, you know he served as a Colonel in the Virginia militia during the Revolution, right? It’s documented.

Greetings Robert. Thank you for the catch – perhaps I mistyped Robert of Granville’s date of death. Robert Bradford Lewis is a much better genealogist than I am, and if my information differs from his, then I would put more faith in his. I am in the process of moving, and my papers are boxed up so I will have to research his date of death when I unpack.

Robert Lewis of Granville was a both a delegate to the NC Constitutional Congress, as well as a Colonel in the North Carolina militia. Robert Bradford had researched that information, which is where I first learned of it.

If you would like to have a photo posted in the family section of my web site, I’d be delighted to include it.

    Kind Regards,

    Mark Lewis

Hi Gretchen. How are you doing?

We just moved to Wellsville from New Jersey, and in the changeover of email accounts I did not get your note. I’m just seeing it now, so I apologize for the delay in responding.

I wish you a Merry Christmas and Happy and Healthy 2010.

    Kind Regards,

    Mark
