My grandfather’s sister describes her life in rural West Virginia in the early 1900s.

This is the first seven chapters of my Great-Aunt Avis’ story of her life. It tells her story of living in rural West Virginia in the time frame 1900 – 1925. She reminisces about her childhood, education, working as a teacher, and generally lets us know what life was like in isolated mountain country. She wrote this in the mid-1970s, and I have made minor editing changes to enhance readability.
